This gate is perfect for my needs.Mounted at the bottom of the stairs to keep my pet Pekingese ( had back surgery and has a very weak back, no jumping) from going up the stairs. Had no trouble installing the gate and works great. Looks good also.

I looked at a lot of gates and chose this one. I am using this outside as a gate to my large deck. The purpose is to keep little kids in and dogs out. The gate is a really close match to the railing that surrounds the deck. It won’t be used nearly as much as an inside gate. I can see this lasting quite a while as it will spend most of it’s life closed. If I could have sent a photo along, I would have. The instructions were pretty straight forward. I thought it installed rather easily. For the price, I feel it will do the job. If anything breaks, I’m sure I can deal with it. Treat it nice, don’t be rough with it, and it should last a long time. I’m planning on mine to do just that.

After I got the gate assembled I really liked the way it looked and worked. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is that the hardware for the hinge and latch parts would not tighten enough to hold the gate in the right position. I added washers to the screws and that took care of the problem. Thanks for a great product. Jim

We are proud grandparents of a baby girl, just under a year old. She has just started walking and with the family visiting for two weeks over Christmas, we wanted to baby-proof our staircase top and bottom. We’ve been using our Safeway gates for a week now and are delighted with them. The price was attractive, the gates are sturdy and installation was relatively quick. My only issue with installation was the stop pins that prevent the gate from swinging backwards over the stairs. These are very small and easily dropped or misplaced. The gate fit around our baseboards and railing trim without difficulty. We like the solid click you hear when pressing down on the gate spring to engage the locking mechanism. The gates blend nicely with our stairway bannister, which has black steel pickets. The mounting brackets are relatively unobtrusive and allow the gates to be removed and stored when not needed, which for us is most of the time. Good job KidCo!

Used this gate for another purpose. Our top of stairs is open in main living area where you walk past opening. Was concerned about someone walking into open stairwell especially at night. Needed a warning system. Mounted gate higher for adult height. With steel construction gate seems sturdier than anticipated for a child gate. Meets our purpose well. Also looks good.

Like this gate. It looks nice (black) in our home. We are using it for a different purpose. Our stairway is in center of house in main traffic path. It would be easy for anyone to unknowingly step into opening at top of the stairs. We are using this mainly for adult stair opening awareness, so we mounted it higher in stair opening. Solved our worry at a reasonable cost.

This gate is exactly what we have been looking for. We wanted a hardware mounted gate, not a pressure mounted or mesh gate. It was easily assembled and adjusted to the opening. We are totally pleased with the result.

Much quieter than our other gate. A little complicated to put together but in the end, it was much better than another brand we had bought. It is quieter and prettier. It even looks decent attached to our wrought iron railings! We bought two and both are great!

My husband got me this as an early Christmas present. Can I just say. I LOVE IT!!! The vertical bars are just wide enough for my cat to slink through, but it keeps a German shepherd and a great Pyrenees mix at bay. Installation was very straightforward and simple. The gate itself is very attractive and sturdy. The latch is easily pressed and the gate moved with one hand. Best part is there is nothing to trip over since it opens more easily than stepping over any other gate. The perfect solution to protect the areas you want safe.
